Sir,
You are directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated on the 11th inst. In reply I am directed to inform you that His Excellency the Governor approves of the Road being repaired and the Bridges being replaced in the manner you propose, but before the amount can be sanctioned you are required to send in an exact Estimate of the Expense. In the meantime an advance of $300 will be ordered to be made to you by the Colonial Treasurer and Financial Secretary.
